This subculture is made up of a community of gamers who play online with friends they may know in real life as well as new ones made on the game. World of warcraft is one of the best known role play games on which the player develops a character who then defeat other gamers to work through levels.
A highly addictive habit online gaming is developing and changing on a daily basis, with new games and graphics keep the players hooked spending excessive amounts of time on them. The gamers lives begin to revolve around getting onto new levels. However, one of the most interesting characterists in this subculture is that there lifestyles away from the computer differ quite alot, meeting online means they come from differant backgrounds then these differances create interesting discussions within the group.
The main games played by most of these gamers are Starcraft, TERA, Freefall and Starwars. These are real-time strategy games in which many of the story lines, such as in starcraft, are adapted and expanded from novels like Starcraft: Brood war.
As most 'socialising' within the group happens online there isn't a set fashion or trend to the clothing worn by the members, however websites have developed ranges of t-shirts and basic clothing which members can buy and indentify with.
Listening to mostly heavy metal and classic rock music the soundtracks from the games also become part of the players musical taste. One of the users comment on this video outlines his passion for the music, ' OH HOLY GLORIOUS MOTHER MARY IN A PIZZA BOX!! AND I
